Creating a Disk Image

A disk image file is an exact copy of a drive. It can be used during data recovery so that the original disk can be safely stored away. It can be created on a drive with sufficient free space. For the best speed, use a newly-formatted drive to avoid disk fragmentation.

I have read the WARNING above.

You must make sure that the destination folder is not on the drive holding the lost data.
