Consider the spanned volume K: in the figure below:

If this volume fails and needs to be reconstructed, the first sector numbers of the extents are not easy to compute. You may need to use the Microsoft® dmdiag utility or use our recover services. See "Chapter 20: RAID Recovery Services."
