Chapter 13: Overview of RAID Reconstruction

Do It Yourself or Use Our Services

You can use File Scavenger® to reconstruct a RAID by yourself or use our RAID recovery services (see "Chapter 20: RAID Recovery Services.") If you choose to do it yourself, successful recovery depends on your knowledge of the RAID settings and the complexity of the RAID configuration. When using our service, successful recovery is almost certain except when the component disks are corrupt beyond recovery.

The following tables provide the estimates for your chances of success in a few typical scenarios, assuming the component disks are intact. Spanned volumes are not RAID, but the analysis and procedures are similar.
