Scan log

Use this dialog to specify a journal folder. A long scan may take several hours to finish. When running a long scan, you can choose a scan log folder where File Scavenger® can store hints that will help to reduce rescanning time significantly. This option does not benefit the initial scan but it should be used just in case a rescan is necessary. For example the computer may reboot in the middle of a scan.

The scan journal folder must not reside on the drive holding the lost data. Writing any data to this drive will reduce your chances of a successful recovery.

A separate scan journal folder must be used for each drive.

Enable journaling.

Turn on journaling.
