The quick recovery procedure for a system drive consists of six steps:

• Protect the subject drive.
• Install File Scavenger®.
• Search for files.
• Activate File Scavenger®.
• Recover files to a destination folder.
• Validate the recovered files.

Step 1: Protect the Subject Drive

You must stop all activities that may write new data to the subject drive, as follows:

• Go to Control Panel and disable Automatic Updates. This service can potentially download a large amount of data on the system drive.
• Stop using the computer for any activities other than data recovery. Email and Internet browsing activities must be strictly avoided.
