You can purchase a Personal-Use license for one specific computer. The Registration Code required at the time of purchase must be the one displayed on the Licenses dialog on the subject computer.

The Professional-Use license bears the name of the purchaser and can be used to activate the program on any computer. However, only the purchaser is legally authorized to use the program.

If you are recovering data from a data drive (see "Chapter 2: Data or System Drive?"), you can click on the Launch Internet browser button to visit our web site and purchase a license. If data is being recovered from a system drive, however, using the Internet browser will reduce your chance of success. Write down the Registration Code and log on to another computer to purchase a license key. (If you are purchasing a Professional-Use license, then the Registration Code is not required.)

You receive a credit for upgrading to the immediate next version, such as from version 2 to version 3. You receive no credit for upgrading from version 1 to 3, 2 to 4, etc.
